Dear Jane

Apologies for not replying earlier, as you may know the TBS has a new website that's taken us a little while to get settled down. Apologies for the confusion over the battlefield trail. The signboards that you've seen are for the new trail that was laid out in April last year. The maps we have are ones that show the various old trails that we used to use before that. We are currently developing a new map that we hope to be publishing in the next couple of months.

I do hope that this didn't spoil your walk, perhaps you have seen that we are now doing guided walks each month from the Rockingham Arms, the details are on the website and you can accompany one of our expert guides who will be able to explain the battle.

Regards

David Skillen TBS

Hi Malcolm

Apologies that the Wakefiled event was not as good as you'd hoped. I wasn't there so don't know the full story but you are more than welcome to come along to one of the walks. Dogs on leads are permitted and whislt we don't make a charge for the walk we do ask for a donation to the work of the TBS.

Best wishes

Dave Skillen TBS

In the summer we did a walk round Saxton and found one of the display boards for your new Battlefield Trail near Lord Dacre's Cross. We decided to do the trail and I sent for and received your leaflet "The Battle of Towton: walking the battlefield, assuming this would be the leaflet to accompany your new trail.
Yesterday, we set out to walk the battlefield using this trail but in fact it proved to be a completely different walk which we only realised when we arrived again at Lord Dacre's Cross. We were too tired by this time to do the new trail, which is what we had thought we were going to do and made our way back to Saxton. I think it is very misleading to have two trails for the battlefield and I think you need to get this sorted out. I am sure I am not the only person to be misled.
