Towton Battlefield Walks: 100% on Tripadvisor !

Yes our battlefield has a mention on Tripadvisor, with 21 of 29 reviewers giving the walks a rating of excellent. Our free guided walks usually take place twice a month, starting and finishing at the other great attraction in Towton, the Rockingham Arms pub. Please look under “Events” on this website for dates and times.
Of course you can walk round the battlefield anytime, take in the views, enjoy the fresh air and be informed by our numerous information boards (don’t forget the board at the centre of the battlefield, near Clifford’s tree). There are other good pubs nearby as well like our other favorites The Crooked Billet and the Greyhound Inn at Saxton.
Please remember this is a countryside walk and may not be suitable for everyone.

This is a very accessible tour led by excellent local guides. The tour lasts around 2 hours and gives you a good insight to the events of the day. Our guide, Chris, was knowledgeable, informative and engaging … he really brought the battle to life. I shall certainly come back again and visit other local sites linked to the battle as well as the Royal Armouries in Leeds to learn more.
